Hinckley Soapbox Derby
The crowds were out in force on Sunday as the 8th annual Soapbox Derby took place in Castle Street Hinckley
Over 40 soapboxes took part in the event and the day was blessed with lovely weather. The town was packed as the crowds lined Castle Street. Organised by Hinckley Bid competitors came from all over the district.
Prizes and medals were awarded to all that took part with many saying they would return next year.
Our friends at Hinckley District Past & Present (HDPP) won the best novelty Soapbox with their entry as a Hansom Cab with a horse’s head on the front. Also the mayor of the borough Mr Ozzy O’Shea chose this soapbox for his run down castle Street cheered on by the crowds.
